I've been putting together every type of hard wood that I can get; walnut, cherry, poplar, alder, oak, hickory, maple and so on. Some of my frames have a pristine polished look while others have a beat up rustic feel to them. I have a large variety of designs to choose from and more to come. The possibilities are endless.
